Where is Sun City Palm Desert?

Sun City Palm Desert (SCPD) is located in the heart of the Coachella Valley in Souther California, about half way between Los Angeles and San Diego.  Sun City Palm Desert is surrounded by the beautiful cities of Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, La Quinta, Indian Wells and is considered to be the premier active adult community in the nation.

How many homes are in SCPD?

4,985 single story homes are located on 1,600 beautifully landscaped acres.

How many floor plans are there?

About 45.  Many are similar and have undergone minor upgrades and were given new names throughout the construction period from 1999 to 2004.

How many people live in SCPD

Approximately 9,000.

What are the association dues?

The majority of homes pay $243 per month.  Some of the earlier built homes have additional fees covering landscaping or outdoor maintenance.

What does the association fee cover?

Maintenance of the common areas such as the golf courses, clubhouses, pools, etc.

Do many singles live there?

Yes, approximately 15% of the residents are single.  There is also a club for singles with activities and outings planned through-out the year.

Is there an age requirement?

Yes.  One of the homeowner has to be 55 or older.

What size are the homes?

The homes range from about 1,100 sq. ft. to 3,400 sq. ft. 

What is the price range?

Homes in Sun City Palm Desert start the $200,000`s and range up to the $800,000`s.

Is there a golf course?

There are two regulation golf courses here in SCPD; Santa Rosa and San Gorgonio.  I often hear remarks that they are the most beautifully maintained golf courses in the Valley.

Is there a driving range?

Yes.  It is located next to the first tee Santa Rosa

Is there a practice area?

Yes, there are several practice areas.  Each golf course has a putting area and Santa Rosa has a practice area for chipping.  There is also a large practice area next to the 18 hole putting course just North of the San Gorgonio Pro Shop.

Can you tell me about the 18 hole putting course?

Our putting course is on real grass and wraps around a lovely lake.  It is a beautiful and scenic area for family and friends to enjoy.

 Is there a fitness center at SCPD?

Yes, we have two state-of-the-art fitness centers; one located in the Mountain View clubhouse and one in the Lakeview clubhouse.

Are there trainers available at the fitness centers?

Yes.

How many clubhouses at SCPD?

Three.  The first clubhouse is Mountain View which houses our ballroom, SCPD Administration, The Daily Grind, Martinies, the computer lab, the model railroad club, the ceramics club, the art club, the stained glass club, the jewelry club, the sewing, knitting and quilting club and many others.  There are also meeting rooms available.  Ventanas restaurant is also located in this clubhouse.  The main pro shop, first of two fitness centers, indoor pool, outdoor pool and Papa Dan`s restaurant is also located at this clubhouse.  Our tennis and paddle courts are located just adjacent to the clubhouse.  The second (or middle) clubhouse is called Sunset View and houses Boulevards restaurant, the billiards room, SCPD Accounting, the lending library, the auditorium, the dance studio and the game room(s).  There is also an outdoor pool and bocce courts.  Our third clubhouse, the Lakeview clubhouse is where the second fitness center is located, another outdoor pool and more meeting rooms.

Is there more than one restaurant?

Yes, we have three restaurants that are open daily. Our fourth restaurant is open for special events.
